Laser scanning system

Overview

A steelworks company required an accurate laser-scanning system, capable of 3-axis rotational movement.

Objectives

The system had to incorporate a linear actuator (To carry a low-power laser for the scanning), and a 3-axis of rotation system to position and hold the sample piece in place.

Solution

• 3off LGR2000 series Rotary stages with fixing brackets to give motion in 3 axis
• 1off LGL series Linear slide positioned on table, aligned with rotary stages.
• MiniTec framework structure

Benefits Gained

• Enables customer to accurately scan by moving the laser via a linear actuator
• Customer sample piece can be rotated 360 degrees by 3 separate rotary stages
• Table can easily be extended or retracted with the MiniTec design structure.
