Overview
LG Motion’s engineering expertise helped
Smiths Industries Ltd. to produce components for the Boeing
777 Jetliner’s fuel management system. Using the MiniTec
modular construction system, a fully integrated deposition
and curing machine, complete with fume extraction, was
built, enabling lightweight fuel probes to be coated with a
polysulphide layer. An LG Motion LRB40 linear slide drew the
tube past a fixed dispensing nozzle ensuring smooth and
continuous application. Speed and precision were controlled
through a standard SD13 drive card. Specially engineered
jigs allowed various tube lengths to be rotated during
curing via a belt drive powered by a BL series brushless
servo motor. |
