Training

We offer a range of training courses, starting with the basics, which can lead onto the in-depth technical aspects, and programming according to needs. Each course is designed to give a sound understanding of the motion technologies for the Motors, Drives and Controller products that are used in your particular application.

Training The typical content usually the items as shown below, but can be tailored to ensure that the training was relevant to your specific needs.

 

Course 1 - An Introduction to Motion (Duration: 1 day)

  • The motor technologies - Steppers, Brushless Servos, Linear motors
  • The drive technologies - Steppers, Brushless Servos, Linear motors
  • Feedback devices - Encoders, resolvers, tachos
  • Hardware based systems - Pre-programmed stand-alone units
  • PC based systems - Windows based controllers
  • Comparisons of motors and selection criteria
  • Applications and the technologies to chose
  • Basic servo tuning and set-up techniques
  • Common questions answered and trouble shooting

Course 2 - Technical Workshops (Duration: 1-4 days)

  • The motor technologies - Setting the controller to your mechanics
  • The drive technologies - Includes structure, good practice and helpful tips
  • Feedback devices - Includes free software
  • Hardware based systems - How to set up the servo motor to the load dynamics
  • PC based systems - Exercises to test understanding
  • Comparisons of motors and selection criteria - More exercises and typical application problems
  • Applications and the technologies to chose - How the software can help in fault finding
  • Basic servo tuning and set-up techniques - To cover your actual application development
  • Common questions answered and trouble shooting

The Technical Workshop Courses have been designed for advanced Users of motion. These courses cover areas such as understanding software programming languages, specific applications, sizing and selection. The emphasis is on 'hands on' experience to aid understanding. These courses will initially review some of the areas covered in the Introduction to Motion course before progressing to in-depth training on specific products.

The courses are designed to run from 9.00am to 4.30pm at our Basingstoke location. They include all course notes, software and training videos where used. These courses can also be run at your site. Please contact us with your actual preferences for us to discuss with you.

We generally need at least 2 weeks notice to arrange dates that suit both parties. Please give as much notice as possible to help us give you the dates you want.
