≫  Gary in Mammoth Cycling Challenge For Cancer Centre

Gary cycling for Ark Cancer CentreLG Motion Managing Director, Gary Livingstone – together with a small group of friends and associates – is currently training hard for one of the most gruelling of physical challenges to help raise money for an important new local cancer centre in Basingstoke.

Gary joins a team of five, who will be cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End between July 2nd and 12th. The route, however, has been made slightly harder as the group are taking a detour via Basingstoke, making the entire journey around 1000 miles.

In Basingstoke, they will be joined by another eight people to cycle the remaining 300 miles – all to support Ark Cancer Centre Charity.

Gary said,

“Cancer touches so many families and all of us taking part in JOGLE16 wanted to do something to help make this much needed local centre a reality. It’s a huge undertaking with plenty of training and organisation, but it will be so worthwhile for all involved.”

Ark Cancer Centre Charity is currently raising £5 million towards the cancer treatment centre, which is being  built in Basingstoke looking to integrate conventional and supportive cancer care for local people across north Hampshire and West Berkshire. Everything will be provided under one roof in an uplifting environment that will enhance the care and support that is given.

JOGLE16JOGLE16 (as the challenge has become known by)  is currently on course to raise at least £20,000 towards the fund through the cycling challenge, which has seen huge support from local people and businesses across the town.

A key landmark in the challenge will be Friday July 8 th when the five riders cycle into Basingstoke. In the evening there will be a special party held at the Tea Bar in London Street for additional fundraising and celebration of the feat.

Full details about the event can be found on www.jogle16.co.uk and the team would be grateful for any support that can be given to this most worthy of causes so let us all see if we can make a massive contribution to the new Cancer Centre.
