Gary Livingstone & MiniTec UK Ltd, has scooped two prestigious awards for local businesses in the recent Basingstoke and North Hampshire INSPIRE10 Business Awards. Following a new factory opening earlier in 2010 with 300% increased capacity and an export market that has grown from zero to £2million in the last few years, Managing Director Gary Livingstone was awarded the individual Entrepreneur of the Year award for the second time running and MiniTec won the Exporter of the Year.
MiniTec UK Ltd shares its new 15,000 sq ft facility with motion control specialists LG Motion Ltd with Gary Livingstone heading up both companies. MiniTec UK operates as a manufacturing subsidiary of MiniTec GmbH & Co KG, the German producer of machine framing systems and components and LG Motion designs and manufactures its own brand electromechanical positioning equipment as well being a distributor partner for several global producers of motion control components and systems. Between both companies the complementary product lines allow OEMs, systems integrators and research organisations to source automated machinery as completely integrated sub-systems with machine frames, positioning mechanics and motion controls designed and assembled in-house.
The INSPIRE10 awards are open to companies and entrepreneurs from across the region and allow leading firms (both large and small) and individuals to gain the recognition they deserve. The track record for MiniTec UK Limited and LG Motion Limited includes exceptional growth since they were formed only 6 years ago with an increase in the head count to 15 staff and a significant investment in machine tools and production equipment.
The two companies have also worked closely with local educational support initiatives at Basingstoke College of Technology and have started their own apprenticeship programme recently.
“These business awards reflect our hard work over the past six years where we have made outstanding and completely self-funded progress” says Livingstone, “they help crown another great year for us where we moved to a new facility, allowing us the opportunity to expand our workforce and gear ourselves for more exciting growth.”
